HOW AND WHY WE CHARGE
FOR OUR RESEARCH
We strongly believe that what we are doing is a much-needed service,
that it requires total focus, and that our consortium has the knowledge
and resources to do the best job possible.
We are aware that many services advertise a
"No-Find-No-Fee" policy. However, we are expending the
same effort whether it leads to a happy reunion or just a name that
cannot be traced, so ours is a flat rate for each search.
We will always put forth a total effort in your search, and will let
you know when we feel we can go no farther in solving your mystery.

DorianData does a substantial number of pro bono searches, as our
contribution to the Adoption Triad. This is in keeping with our
belief that individuals have a fundamental right to the information that
exists about their families of origin. Where there is an inability
to pay, combined with a genuine "need to know," we will always
try to assist at a reduced rate or will waive our fee
completely.
We have a copy of an index of Miami-Dade adoption notices that were
published from the mid-1930s through the mid-1980s. We always
initially search for your information there AT NO COST, and if that is
sufficient information for you to then complete your search, you will
not be charged at all.
Our normal fee is $15.00 - $25.00 per hour,
plus expenses such as transportation, record copies, document charges
and database charges. (We will not add surcharges to these
corollary amounts; whatever we are charged will be passed along to
you. We will be happy to furnish documentation of those
expenses.)
We accept payments made by Money Order/snail mail or
via PayPal. If you wish to use the PayPal option, please bookmark
